Photographic Vision Workshop

Last week I attended a workshop called Reawakening Your Photographic Vision in Oregon.  I decided this year that I needed a workshop that focused on my creative process in photography.  We covered a lot of material that placed a lot of emphasis “on seeing” rather than the technical aspect of photography.  I will say this stretched my creative mind and took me “out of the box” that I had been in.  Most of our pictures centered around the natural surroundings of the facility and I had so much fun using my 50mm f1.4 lens.  I don’t use this lens much, but I really enjoyed the challenge of framing my subjects in the viewfinder hence pushing “the seeing” part of this workshop.  As I start preparing for the upcoming season of photography I can’t help but feel inspired to photograph more creative sessions with my clients!

The instructor, Doug Beasley, was absolutely fantastic and his work is amazing.  Check out a sampling of his work & his Vision Quest workshops: Douglas Beasley Photography and Vision Quest Photo Workshops

For those of you wanting to get away from it all check out Breitenbush Hot Springs Retreat Center where the workshop took place.  It is a amazing place to take a time out from your busy life & soak under the stars.

Here are a few pictures from the workshop along with a slideshow of my favorite images from the week.   Enjoy!
