Why Romania?

This is the last Romanian post from our vacation – I promise – there were just so many great pictures to share!

Everyone always asks : “Why Romania?”  I have a hard time answering back without saying “Why not!”  I like to travel a little off the beaten path and to places that are still a little wild in nature.  I am going to give you a few good reasons why we chose Romania & maybe open up the idea to a future visit for someone.

Why Romania?

The castles & fortresses throughout the countryside.

Beautiful frescoes paintings in many churches and monasteries.

Saxon homes

Courtyards hidden behind large Saxon doors.

Fortified churches everywhere!

Open air museums with examples of village homes found throughout Romania.

Small villages scattered throughout Transylvania taking you back in time.

A simpler life!

Beautiful vistas & views everywhere!

A nature lover’s paradise.  Mountain ranges are abundant in Transylvania just waiting to be explored!

Now you have to ask yourself “Why not Romania?”
