Hippocrene Spring

At the end of September I traveled to Shingle Springs, California located in the foothills outside of Sacramento to assist and photograph at a women’s equine experiential retreat.  A few years ago I studied with Cathryn and I took this time to get reintroduced to this beautiful work with the horses.  I have been considering the possibility of offering retreats similar to this in the future – I will keep you posted as things evolve.  I enjoyed helping out with the workshop and even learned a few cooking tips when I was preparing the super delicious lunches.  Cathryn’s property is located in the Northern California hill country.  It is so beautiful and peaceful, it was nice to be somewhere where it was truly quiet.  Over the week I photographed her property, the horses, the retreat and I did some portraits of Cathryn and her horses.  I look forward to a visit with Cathryn and the beauty she has created in the near future.

It was a great experience to be able to hold space for the participants as they enter or continue on their personal growth path.  It is a beautiful experience to see people following their hearts vs the world’s expectations of what they should be doing.  If we all took the time and effort to start down that path our world would be a better place.  It is sometimes not an easy road but very fulfilling nonetheless.

If you are looking for a retreat that will help you quiet your mind and open your heart so that you may reconnect with your unique inner voice and your heart’s calling, reawakening your connection to your true Self and reestablishing your path towards reclaiming your sense of wholeness and joy that allows you to live and love more fully – Check out Hippocrene Springs and the workshops available.

Here are some of my favorite pics from the week – Enjoy!

One of the reasons I love photographing this type of interaction is that it is truly heart centered.  It comes from a place of having an open heart and an open mind.  I hope you can see that through the pictures.

The retreat includes some time spent with the horses and in exercises.  I won’t give too much away…..

Reflective time with the horses ends up being a very powerful experience with the participants.

Tracey, these are stunning images! Clearly you are gifted and are using your gifts to the fullest. Thank you so much for sending them. They lift my spirit and bring a smile to my face and heart.

There was an image that was on the slide show you gave us at the end of the retreat that I am curious about. It is of the moment that Belle reached out to me I believe with her nose to my hand. That moment is a moment I want to always remember and I would love to heve the picture of it. It was in that moment that I received a precious gift from Belle and only in retrospect did I recognize her gift. So I missed the magnificence of the moment and was not present to recieve and appreciate and acknowledge it to myself or Belle. That experience showed me the importance of being present in each moment, of vigilently holding Sacred space in my mind and heart and spirit, lest I miss the gifts and experiences that are presented.
    Thank you again, Pam
